Renee (La Roi) Shuttleworth – I have years of training and practice with the Focusing method. I am a Certified Focusing Professional (CFP) through the International Focusing Institute. I have worked with guiding focusers since 2000. I have learned to welcome – the good, the bad and the ugly in radical self acceptance and found that we can move forward and change when we make space for what is inside of us. I was introducted to Focusing in the late 1980’s when I was in art school – and I started to see a Focusing-Oriented Therapist that helped me learn to form a new relationship with myself. Focusing changed my life and I would like to share this practice with others. I offer one-on-one guided sessions, mentoring for Focusing Certification students, and classes to learn how to Focus.

I have trained with: Ann Wiser Cornell, Clelia Costo, Jeffrey Morrison, Dr. Greg Madison and many more. I have taught Introductory workshops – assisting Dr. Greg Madison, and marie sherry McDonald. I have had Focusing partners since 1999. I have seen Focusing-Oriented Therapists for many many years – this personal work has changed my life. Have worked with the International Focusing Institute for many years as a designer. I had the distinct pleasure of working with Gene Gendlin and his wife Mary Hendricks Gendlin.
Other things about me
I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts – with Painting and Drawing as my major. I have worked as a graphic and website designer for many years – working mostly with Psychotherapists and other wellness providers. My painting is very much informed by my Focusing practice. I am also a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) – certified through the Yoga Alliance with many years of training with different teachers. Yoga and Focusing go together for me. I live in London, England, UK with my husband.
